Aims and Scope of the Journal

Established in 2004, the KNUST Law Journal is an annual publication of the Faculty of Law, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. The purpose of the Journal is to provide a regular and sustainable medium for law lecturers and researchers, lawyers, judges, and other experts in law and allied fields to publish their research findings and /or critical analyses of various legal issues. The Journal, which was published only in print, became electronically accessible online as of November 2018, with the online version being open access.

The scope of the Journal is not limited to any specific area of law. Well-researched articles on Ghanaian law as well as foreign and international law that meet the editorial and peer review requirements of the Journal may be published. Notes and comments on recent legislation and judicial decisions, as well as book reviews are also accepted for publication. While the primary target group of authors for the Journal is Ghanaian legal academics, judges and legal practitioners, papers by graduate law students and foreign authors may be considered for publication.

Now in its print and online versions, the KNUST Law Journal continues to provide essential reading for all interested persons in Ghana and abroad who wish to keep abreast of the latest research on developments in law, particularly Ghanaian law.
